BBC Bitesize-Daily Lessons

You may want to follow the daily English lessons on the BBC Bitesize daily lesson site. There are lessons, videos and activities to follow which all cover the Year 4 English objectives. If you prefer to follow those, please do. If not follow the daily activities below, or you could do a bit of both.

Please remember that you don't need to print all the sheets to work on, you can read them on screen and then write your work/answers in your book or on a piece of paper.

Spellings- Learn the weekly spellings. Once you've learnt them ask another member of your family to test you. This might be later in the week when you've had chance to learn them.  Have a go at creating a spelling scribble like the one below but the 'cian' words.

Read the Princess and the Pea short story and answer the questions about the text ( possible answers are on the last page). If you have time create a storyboard of the story. I know how much some of you like drawing cartoons and creating images so why don't you make it into a comic strip.

Wednesday 22nd April 2020

Princess and the Pea dialogue. Practice the rules for speech ( we have done this before in school) by putting the inverted commas in the correct place for when characters are talking in the the story.

Thursday 23rd- Friday 24th April

One of my favourite poet's is Allan Ahlberg and I really like this poem 'Things I have been doing lately'. I've picked it for our work over the next two days as you are really going to have to use your imagination and show how creative you can be. Try to include some funny and ridiculous things or some new things that you have learnt or done.
