Three Peak's Walk
Last Sunday was a real triumph for all of the children, parents and friends of Hopton, who braved the 3 Peak's Walk. It was a real challenge, made more difficult by the wind, rain and dense cloud cover on top of both Ingleborough and Whernside. Overall, we walked over 26 miles, it should have been 23 but we got lost! The mountains at times seemed to go on and on and on, and the 204 concrete steps at the top of Pen-y-ghent, our last mountain were very enjoyable indeed, or at least I told myself that as I was stepping up them.
It was certainly a challenge and one that has left an ache in my legs, however, it was a brilliant day and the knowledge that our amazing children, parents and friends have raised well over £1000 for the school is one that has made all of the aches worthwhile.
I truly believe that we have a wonderful school and the teamwork between home and school is one of our strongest foundations. I'm sure it is sometimes easy to let others do the work, but to everyone who chose to push themselves to the limit on Sunday I send my heartfelt thanks on behalf of the school, the staff and most importantly, the children.
An amazing job!
